About Us
Welcome to Moordale Motors
Moordale Motors was founded in 1985 to specialise in the maintenance, repair, upgrading and restoration of Triumph cars. The idea was to try and keep as many of these wonderful old cars on the road and in as good a condition as possible.
We also specialise in servicing, welding, Crypton engine tuning and body repairs, and are also happy to carry out work on other vehicles, British or Foreign.
We like to think that we give your car the same attention that you would wish to if carrying out the work yourself and have many years of experience, which has earned us an excellent reputation amongst owners and enthusiasts throughout the UK and beyond.
Servicing and Repairs
At Moordale Motors we are experienced in carrying out the whole range of servicing and mechanical repairs which may become necessary on your Triumph using the best quality replacement parts available whilst carrying out detail modifications to components in order to further improve reliability and serviceability.
Whether your trunnions are worn or seized, your rack notchy or slack, your brakes soggy or snatching, your clutch slipping or fierce, your indicators flashing too fast or not at all, we are sure to be able to help. With over 40 years’ experience we have probably seen and fixed just about every problem there is, although we`re always wary for the one we may not have, just in case.
Crypton Tuning
Crypton tuning covers two different aspects of maintenance, firstly there is fault diagnosis. Many engine tuning faults, particularly ignition and general electrical ones can be found quickly and accurately by this method allowing for subsequent repairs to be carried out with confidence.
Secondly there is engine set up which will ensure that your car`s engine is performing at peak efficiency, delivering more power, greater smoothness, more miles per gallon and improved throttle response.
Crypton tuning can also help in preventing potential problems such as burnt out valves by ensuring that the ignition timing settings and advance are correct and that the air/fuel mixture is correctly maintained thereby avoiding valve overheating, ‘coking up’ in the combustion chambers and bore glazing.
If you have never had your engine Crypton tuned, maybe you should do so and feel the difference for yourself.
Spares
Although not primarily spares suppliers we stock a range of service parts for your Triumph. We also stock the parts which we use most frequently in our own workshops, some trim items and panels and lots of those annoying little bits and pieces which you only realise you need when you have already got the car in bits. Should you need something which we don`t have in stock we can either order it for you for collection from us or suggest the best suppliers to buy from for delivery to your door by post or courier.

Body Repairs
Whether you have the dreaded ‘tin-worm’ mainifesting itself, paint problems or accident damage, we are happy to help. We have, to date, carried out hundreds of succesful repairs of all kinds to the range of Triumph cars and many others besides, some right up to restoration level.
About Us
All the staff at Moordale Motors pride themselves on their high standards and it is a joy to be a part of a team totally devoted to their work, "Pure Enthusiasts" one and all!
We feel that the key to good quality repairs is not just the right experienced staff, but a genuine enthusiasm for the marque. We have owned, over the years, a steady succession of Heralds, Vitesses, Spitfires, TRs, Dolomites, 2000s and 2.5s of our own, with several still owned, and have taken part in many club level, Autotests, Autosolos, Gymkhanas, Treasure Hunts, Rallies, Navigational Scatters, Track Days and Touring Events including many Coast to Coast Runs, Ten Countries Runs and Round Britain Reliability Runs.
We have a friendly open workshop policy and welcome callers during the day whether popping in to see how their particular Triumph is progressing or just calling in for a chat and a coffee.
